Background:
The Iñupiat of the Arctic Slope are on the front lines of the battle against global climate change, but they are not the only people affected by the warming of the planet. On April 5-7, 2009, the ECHO (Education Through Cultural and Historic Organizations) partners hosted a national symposium to discuss the effects of climate change on the planet. The symposium was held at the Exploratorium in San Francisco and focused on providing grassroots information for teachers, students, and community members across America.

This Learning Center extends that symposium to the rest of the world. Here you will be able to download a PowerPoint with scientific information about global warming, and view the webcasts of different parts of the symposium program.
