Sikusuiliaq, or place where ice never forms

There are places in streams in the deep arctic that never form ice, even in subzero weather, because of warm springs or unusually fast-flowing water. Nunamiut people know about them because they're an important source of drinking water in the winter. Photo courtesy of Jill Exe of the North Slope Borough School District, Alaska.
